Mike | News, Console, XBOX 360, Accessories, Video Games | Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Guitar Hero 2
Red Octane has responded regarding the huge numbers of problems reported regarding the whammy bars on Guitar Hero 2 guitars. Luckily they seem to isolated the model numbers of the guitars that seemed to be defective.

Here’s what Red Octane had to say,

We have isolated this issue to two model numbers that can be found on the guitar’s packaging. The numbers are 95065 and 95055. We are asking that customers who purchased their items from a retailer perform an exchange with that respective store (for a model number other than the defective two listed above). Customer’s who purchased through our online store can complete an rma request for their defective item and we will exchange it for a fully function guitar controller. We do apologize for the inconvenience and will [resolve] these matters.

Get those guitars returned and get rockin’ again.

Snid | News, HandHelds, Nintendo DS, Accessories, Video Games | Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

White audio player
You’re all probably saying about now, “dude, there’s tons of 3rd Party Headsets for the DS and counting so far.”

However, this one is official for Nintendo, it’s mainly advertised for the DS Lite, though I believe it’ll work on the regular DS too. I’m not aware that any other colors of the headset are available other than polar white. It will be arriving in April and even though the DS Has a built in mic (mainly for blowing into and talking), this headset is just for talking.

You can use it with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Metroid Prime Hunters, among other games that use voice chat (if any).

MSRP $15, Buy it Here.

Wii Sports Pack on ebay

Aldo | News, Console, Wii, Accessories, Video Games | Thursday, February 8th, 2007

wii sports pack

wii sports pack

Did you already hear about this? The Wii Sports Pack!

It’s on Ebay (also in some stores) from a while, and it allows you to play all sports available on Wii Sports (tennis, golf, etc.) with replica accessories that fit onto the controller. :) Made by Pelican Accessories. I guess this is meant to give the game a bit more of a realistic feel. The Mii’s already are missing parts of limbs so Wii Sports could take all the realism it can get. :P

You can buy this pack for about $19.99US at EBGames. You can click here to see this accessories spot at EBGames.com. It has a few bad reviews however, mostly about a peice of plastic that actually covers the sensor on the top of the Wiimote. Maybe that’s why so many are on EBay. However I know that a few sports don’t even require thay sensor(I played bowling 2 floors up once). The rest of the reviews seem like people wanted a little more than some novelty to the controller.

Seems like a cool little toy. Little bits of controller interactivity like this is what makes this console so special afterall.

EB Games selling rechargable Wiimotes

Mike | News, Console, Wii, Accessories, Video Games | Friday, January 26th, 2007

Rechargable Wiimotes

After about a month and a half of playing a Wii I’m fairly confident that I could say that the batteries for 2 Wiimotes has cost more than the Wiimotes themselves. However it appears that Nyko has developed a cheaper solution to this expensive dilemma.

A rechargable Wiimote battery pack!

“The Wii Charge Station accepts two Wii controllers (not included) and simultaneously powers them. When the remotes are recharged, an LED charge indicator lights up. The charge station includes two NiMH rechargeable battery packs and a six-foot power cable. On top of everything else, the charge station comes packed with two rubberized battery covers for an improved grip.”

It seems like an amazing idea to me. It should be selling for $29.99 US at EBGames. It should be shipping to EBGames stores on around January 26th so expect it to arrive in stores shortly afterwards.

Matcatz Wiimote Plans Possibly Leaked

Mike | News, Console, Wii, Accessories, Video Games | Monday, January 15th, 2007

matcatzwiimote

Most of us know the situation in the world right now. You buy and Wii and go out to buy another controller to play with your friends. So you wander down the electronics store and ask the guy behind the counter, ”Do you have an Wiimotes?”. Most the time he’ll look at you funny since this is the 100th time he’s been asked this and he’ll say, “No they’re out of stock.”

Nintendo just can’t keep up with the demand of Wiimotes right now. However Matcatz might just be coming to save Nintendo. A Walmart employee snapped the picture above of what appears to be a Wiimote package with a Madcatz logo printed on it.

Now I can’t look at you in the eye right now and say Madcatz has soon-to-come plans for a Wiimote since there is no way to verify these pictures or stick at date on when this Wiimote will be put on the market. However the future seems a little brighter right now.

That Wiimote looks pretty cool and comfortable too eh?

Nyko’s Wii sensor bar runs on four AAA batteries for a total of 30 hours life.

Wii Remote Wrist Strap Replacement Request Form

Mike | News, Console, Wii, Accessories, Video Games | Friday, December 15th, 2006

Comparison Between Wiimote Straps

Well, with the recent wave of smashed windows, broken televisions, dented walls and assortment of other bits of damage related to overly-hyper-Wii-playing-fans Nintendo has a request form released for a free replacement of a Wii strap. (Up to 4 straps)

Quote Nintendo.com:

Nintendo is offering to replace the original version of the wrist straps for the Wii Remote with a newer version. Because Wii consoles shipped starting in early December already utilized the newer version of the strap, you will need to determine which version of the strap you have before ordering a replacement.

If you have an original version of the strap, please complete the form below to get a replacement.

Once your replacement wrist strap has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email from Nintendo. We expect to begin shipping replacement straps around December 21st. It will take 5 to 9 days for delivery depending on your location. Please do not contact Nintendo regarding your replacement wrist strap until after that time period has passed.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your interest in our products.

PSP GPS Revievier out in Japan

Mike | News, HandHelds, PSP, Accessories, Video Games | Friday, December 8th, 2006

 GPS with PSPGPS Alone

The PSP GPS Reciever is out in Japan now. (Enough acronyms eh?)

The reciever simply attaches onto the PSP as shown in pictures. Not very pocket friendly when it’s attached there but it look rather small sothat shouldn’t be a problem. Just take it off ;)

However not only will people with the GPS reciever never get lost again but they’ll be able to play games with it! Hot Shots Golf can get all the data you need on a real Japanese golf course like how far your are from the hole and Homestar: 21st Century Navigator will use the GPS reciever in gameplay as well.

Oh, if you want one of these you can grab one for about $59 US.
