What does the GTA trailer tell us?
Upon the release of the GTA trailer we somewhat expected that cloud of mystery to disappear. However upon watching the trailer only the beauty of the game was truly revealed. Oh, and a mysterious man that says, “Life is complicated, I’ve killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here things will be different.”
However some eagle eye fans can help us speculate and attempt to answer some of the questions we might have. These fans tell us that,
- While the city appears to be like New York it is actually Liberty City from GTA III. You can find the words “Liberty City” on a tanker, ferry and LCPD likely stands for “Liberty City Police Department”
- The game is based in at least the year 2000. The cars seem to give that away as you can see what looks like a BMW and some nice sports cars
- GTA IV uses the amazing RAGE engine. Rockstar told Gamespot, “We can confirm that all footage in the trailer was captured directly from 720p gameplay running real time in our Rage engine on a next-gen gaming console.” Awesome, it looks really good.
- An ad in the trailer states, “Visit Vice City- $300″. Will we be able to visit Vice City? Or is this just a little tease? Will it still look the same?
- Everything seems to have improved physics as we might expect. You can even spot a driver fixing his rear view mirror. Little tiny details
- Is this Russian guy a main character? Our best friend? Or our enemy?
If you have any other little speculations that you can spot from the trailer or any other reputable source, please share! Rockstar says that the game should be shipped on October 19 for both Xbox 360 and PS3. Woohoo!
